What init system would you prefer to use under GhostBSD?

Why this pool? Has much as I like OpenRC, it comes at a price. All FreeBSD OS services and ports/packages services must be maintained and new ones to be added. So on that note, we would like your vote on which one you prefer before making a drastic decision.

 

GhostBSD 21.05.11 ISO now available

This new ISO contains some vital fixes, like dhcpcd not starting properly, Software Station random crashes, a fix to start VirtualBox properly on the live session, and some software updates.

Issues fixed for GhostBSD 21.05.11 ISO:

To upgrade to 21.05.11

If freebsd-version still shows 12.2-STABLE, look at Upgrading to newer versions of GhostBSD based on 13-STABLE.

For those who are on 13.0-STABLE, do your normal update from update-station.

Note: 21.05.11 is the date that the ISO is built and not a release. GhostBSD has adopted the CI/CD philosophy that makes us rolling release.

Writing the iso to a USB stick:

On BSD

dd if=GhostBSD-21.05.11.iso of=/dev/da0 bs=4m

On Linux

dd if=GhostBSD-21.05.11.iso of=/dev/sdc bs=4M

On Mac

dd if=GhostBSD-21.05.11.iso of=/dev/disk2 bs=10240

Recommended system requirements for the new iso

  • 64-bit processor
  • 4GB+ of RAM
  • 15 GB of free hard drive space
  • Network card

"Hotfix" GhostBSD 21.05.01 ISO's are now available

It was reported that when using the partition editor to install GhostBSD was resulting in those 2 errors below:

EXITERROR: ERROR: Invalid file system specified on disk0-part=Z
EXITERROR: ERROR: Invalid file system specified on disk0-part=U

I made a new ISO with the fix for that issue.
